Privacy Policy

QueueHamster offers two apps: a Business app for service businesses that run virtual queues, and a Client app for the customers who join those queues. This policy explains what each app collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how you can have your data removed. We collect only what is needed to make the service work.
1. Business app
When you create a business account, we collect and store:
- Account credentials — your email address and a password, used to create and authenticate your account. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not visible to us; your account is identified internally by a unique user ID.
- Business and queue data — your business profile, the queues you create, staff members you add, and the queue entries that pass through your queues. This is the operational data that runs your virtual waiting room.
- Subscription data — if you purchase an auto-renewable subscription, our payments processor (RevenueCat) records your purchase and renewal status so we can grant and verify access. Your actual payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your full card details.
We use this information to provide the service: managing your queues, authenticating you, notifying customers, and managing your subscription.
2. Client app
The Client app does not create an account or ask for an email or password. It signs you in anonymously, which means there is no personal login tied to you. When you use it, the app handles:
- Queue entries — when you join a queue, the entry (including any prefill details such as your name, if you provide them) is stored so the business can serve you and you can track your place in line.
- Prefill details on your device — information you save to speed up joining a queue (such as your name) is kept locally on your device, not on our servers, until you choose to use it.
- Notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging push token, used only to send you queue updates (for example, when it is nearly your turn).
- Camera — the app uses your camera only to scan a QR code on your device so it can join the right queue. Images are not stored and are not sent anywhere; only the scanned code is used.
3. Processors we use
We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising or analytics tracking in either app. We share data only with the service providers needed to run QueueHamster, under their standard data-processing terms:
- Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database storage (Cloud Firestore), and push notifications.
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (Business app only).
- Apple and Google — payment processing for in-app subscriptions.
4. Security and transmission
Data sent between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Stored data is held in Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted to the operation of the service.
5. Retention
Business account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Queue entries are kept while they are needed to operate the queue and for a reasonable period afterward, then cleared. When you delete your Business account, your account and associated business data are removed. Client queue entries are tied to anonymous sessions and are not linked to a personal identity.
6. Deleting your data
Business users: you can delete your account directly in the app from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account and associated business data.
Client users: the Client app does not create an account, so there is nothing to log into or delete. You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app, which clears the prefill details stored on your device. If you would like a specific queue entry removed, contact us at the address below and we will help.
7. Children
QueueHamster is intended for use by businesses and their customers and is not directed at children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders.
9. Contact
